The next step is to break the lens into thepiece and suck them out of the eye. Then an artificial lens referred as an intraocular lens (IOL) is implanted that performs the same action of the original eye lens.

Usually, no stitches are required in this process.The whole process takes around 20-30 minutes to complete. Compared to the traditional process, the recovery time is also very less, often vision is gained within few hours of the surgery.
